Happy New Year!

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

On this last day of the year I made my first attempt at making some rpms for Fedora 10. You’ll find them in the downloads section. The guys maintaining the PackMan repository for openSUSE have made some packages too.

Happy New Year to everyone! See you for a new release of bareFTP in January!

bareFTP 0.1.2 Released

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

This release fixes some of the issues reported with the initial release. Most notably, the multi threaded remote operations now work more as intended. You can now continue to browse directories etc while a transfer is in progress.

Thanks for the feedback!

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

I want to thank the people who have given feedback on bareFTP. This project got a lot more attention than I anticipated, and that of course motivates me to hurry up with new features! It seems I may have some co-developers coming to the project too.

On a side note, the latest development snapshot has a lot of fixes and multi threaded remote operations that actually works. I bit more testing is needed, but a 0.1.2 release is not far away. Stay tuned!

Name change

Friday, December 12th, 2008

Ok, it is now official. plumFTP will change name to bareFTP. plumFTP was always a temporary working name for the project. The new name can be interpreted in several ways. The actual idea came from the Norwegian meaning of the word bare, meaning something as just in English. Website changes and renaming of namespaces and classes will follow. Stay tunded.
